"Healthy and motivated employees benefit from a lower susceptibility to illness, are therefore present more often and achieve above-average performance," says Hanno Managing Director Günter Krohn, summarizing the reasons for introducing occupational health management (OHM). This conviction is already reflected in the company's philosophy, as some time ago the company drew up guiding principles in which the health and safety of employees are given top priority. This theoretical approach is brought to life by the occupational health management system introduced for the 170 or so employees currently working at the Laatzen site. It not only includes concrete measures to improve ergonomics in production, for example, but also ensures a smoother flow of information and consequently a better working atmosphere. "We invest in the health of our employees with targeted measures to sustainably improve working conditions. This is more important today than ever before, especially in times of an aging workforce and in order to remain attractive as an employer," emphasizes Krohn. So it's a win-win situation for everyone involved.
"A good example of improved company communication is the new newsletter," explains Stephan Topel, head of the BGM working group at HANNO, "Employees are thus involved in processes and informed about upcoming changes even earlier than before." The comprehensive BGM approach of the AOK also includes other, direct prevention measures such as back training courses, which promote the individual health awareness of employees.
As a subsidy for financing the health-promoting measures, Hanno also received a bonus of 6,500 euros from the AOK for the demonstrably successful introduction of BGM.
